boracay part 4

This is the 4th installment of my Boracay posts.

It's been two months already since I handled Boracay, and my boss had slowly stopped bugging me with regards to the sales of the resort. Some of my recommendations have been heeded, and I was told that the GM was impressed with my reports and suggestions.

Two weeks ago, renovation was done to the rooms and lobby of the resort, and everything was finished about five days ago. We saw the pictures and I am thrilled with the changes (the Boracay rooms look even better than what we have here in Taytay), and I was teasing my boss to let me fly and have a look at the new facilities.

Just two days ago, I was told that three of my colleagues are to go there for an ocular inspection. First is my new Sales Executive for Boracay, second is the Marketing Officer, and third is an Account Executive who previously handled the Boracay bookings (he is now focusing on Taytay sales). I wasn't jealous with the fact that I am not included, but was wanting to know WHY I am not included since I am the person in charge of the resort. As expected, my boss has no clear answer for this. I'm thinking that it was because my three colleagues are all males, and the boss is just being protective of my purity me.

In any case, I easily got over the fact that I will not be joining them for the Boracay trip (which is tomorrow, 06 December), though I would be glad if I do. Well that was until..

SUPERVISOR: Ang tagal mong pinag-hirapan yan e, tapos iba ang makikinabang. Dapat kasama ka kasi ikaw naman ang nginangarag nya pag may kailangan sya.

Damn! He's right! I remembered the days when I have to work SUPER over time just to finish all the things needed to be finished for the reports and all; how I overworked my brains just to find some solutions to the problems at hand; and how I extorded my efforts just to be able to handle three jobs at once. If I hadn't gone to Boracay two months ago I would be VERY upset. Gladly I do not miss the island that much now, though I still figured that the team would need me for all their marketing campaigns and sales strategies. Of course they also need my familiarity with the island since all three are first-timers in Boracay.

I'll know when I get the chance to talk with him.
