eragon

I watched Eragon with Jep yesterday.

The animation was excellent, the dragon was really beautiful, the casting was good.

The rest...blah.

Aside from the plot being cliche, it amazed me to no end how the Varden (rebel group), along with the main characters, managed to win the battle without getting dirtied, without getting wounded/blooded, without messing up their hairs, and without ruining their clothings. All throughout the movie, I must say. Add the fact that army of the enemy was like thousands, as compared to their group. Yet they won. In such a short time (in real time, considering the fight between Eragon and that Wormtail-wannabe, I think the whole battle lasted for less than an hour). Really, very amazing. And no principal character died during that battle. Yay.

And our favorite scene, which was definitely the most baffling one -- when Brom conveniently appeared out of nowhere to block Eragon from that (was that a spear or a javelin?) which was directed to him. He appeared. Out of nowhere. Poof! How possible was that, I certainly don't want to think about, unless his horse drank some hyper-speed potion to match a dragon's flight. Really.

It wasn't such a disappointing movie -- if you did not expect anything grand. So just sit back and relax, there wouldn't be any heart-thumping, hair-raising scenes to get you worked up anyway (but I must say that that one-on-one battle with Wormtail-wannabe was good). There weren't witty lines also. Their script-writer doesn't like humor too well.

So let's wait for movie 2, then let's see if they'll offer something new.

It rhymes~
