Cinepuri

I gave CinePuri another chance. Maybe watching it the second time around would make me appreciate it more.

Or so I thought.

PLOT.
Well, basically, it started with Ryoma's arrival to Japan, then zooooooom, it was already the Hyoutei-Seigaku match. And then...the end.

CAST.
I have to forgive the movie since they used the 2nd!cast for the film except for Endou/Yanagi for the role of Ryoma. Kanata Hongo sure is cute, I give him that, and his looks were well-suited for Ryoma. But he CANNOT play Ryoma's bratty, cocky attitude AT ALL. His "mada mada da ne" lines were so weak and boring. I would like Yanagi to play Ryoma for the movie, but we know the reason why he cannot, and I'm not gonna push it. Yuuyan would be a wise option (I mean who cares if he already graduated from the Myu's?), but they still went for a third choice, and well...Kanata, "mada mada da ne".

And on a side note, I love the whole cast for the Hyouteimyu, and Kato Kazuki IS the ORE-SAMA. Sure, Ryuuji got the looks, but don't you think that Kato IS way hotter? Ryuuji was a good Atobe, but Kato, I think, is THE Atobe. And besides, Kato has a GREATER chemistry with Shirotan than Ryuuji. I cannot look at Ryuuji and think "Ore-sama no bigi ni boogie woogie."

ORIGINAL CHARACTERS.
PoT already have LOTS of characters (and it confuses me a lot), yet they still added two original characters for the film. Do they really have to? The brother really irritated me, and the sister...i don't even care about her.

GENERAL.
The funniest thing in the movie? Aside from Tezuka (Shirotan), Ryoma (Kanata), Momoshiro (Kaji), and Kaidoh (Kujirai), the other Seigaku casts were given like less than 10 lines each in the duration of the film. And much lesser for the Hyoutei casts, aside of course from Atobe (Ryuuji).

And I was hoping I'll get a lot of Aiba-chan for this.

But on the positive side, another funny thing was that some of the TeniMyu actors appeared on the movie. I almost laughed when I saw Kenken, and Yoh, and the others, and they were either bystanders or member of a rival school. Hah.

OVERALL.
I think that viewers who weren't following the manga would enjoy the movie more. After all, they wouldn't review and react based on what they read from the manga, or watched from the anime. But still, I guess I could recommend it, but mostly to friends who doesn't follow the original storyline from the manga.

Hooray! for trying to pull this off.
